FAST EDDIE’S CHILI

1 lb. ground beef (sometimes i use a “meatloaf mixture” from publix. 1/2 lb of ground chuck, 1/2 lb. ground pork)
1 onion (chopped)
1 sm can diced tomatoes
1 sm can of crushed tomatoes
1 lg. can of chili beans
1 lg can of country style baked beans
1 Tbsp. minced garlic
1 to 1 & 1/2 cup of brown sugar
dash of Everglades seasoning (or lowreys)
dash of paprika
dash of cumin
chili powder to taste
Tabasco is optional

In a saucepan cook the beef along with the chopped onion until nice and brown. Add all other ingredients to a crock pot and mix well to incorporate everything. Add the beef to the crock pot. Set the crock pot to the 6 or 8 hour setting and stir occasionally. If chili seems to be getting to thick, it is ok to add a little water.

Serve over cornbread or white rice. Cheddar cheese is nice over the chili as well. This recipe won a chili contest at our church. I approached the lady that made it in a dark alley and told her “the recipe or your life.” As you can see the recipe is here! I doctored it up a bit and there you have it…this truly is a great chili.
