MARINARA SAUCE

4 Tbsp Olive Oil
3 Tbsp Sugar
2 tsp fresh basil (gotta be fresh approx 3 large leafs finely chopped.
2 tsp oregano
2 cans Diced Tomatoes (14 oz)
1 Lg. Can of whole peeled Roma Tomatoes (Contadina)
2 small or one large onion chopped
3 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tsp salt
2 (6) oz. can tomato paste

In 2 quart pan over medium heat, cook onion until it starts to get tender, then add the garlic. Cook until well incorporated. Stir in basil, oregano, salt, sugar, tomatoes with liquid, and tomato paste. Heat to boiling and break up tomatoes. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes to an hour until thickened.

Makes about 3 (24 0z) jars. Recipe may be halved.
