NEIMAN MARCUS WANNABE’S

2 cups butter
4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 cups sugar
5 cups blended oatmeal*
24 oz. chocolate chips
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 8oz. Hershey Bar (grated)
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
3 cups chopped nuts (optional)
2 tsp. vanilla

Here it is, the most controversial cookie recipe ever. The writer of this recipe claims that Neiman-Marcus charged a shopper $250 for its cookie recipe, not the $2.50 the woman had been expecting to pay. As revenge on the store for refusing to reverse the charges she has passed this recipe on to everyone. Yeh right! I don’t believe it and neither should you! At any rate, this recipe makes one of the best cookies I have ever eaten.

Measure oatmeal and blend in a blender to a fine powder. Cream the butter and both sugars, then add the eggs and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, mix together flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. After dry mixture is mixed well, slowly add it to the butter, sugar eggs and vanilla mixture.

Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar and nuts if desired. (I often add some extra chocolate chips if not using the nuts)

Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375°.

Makes 112 cookies. (Recipe is easy to half as well)
